Asks pro-freedom leaders to desist from supporting or pleading other choices.
Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on Sunday said that UN resolutions form basics and guarantee the peaceful and amicable solution of issue as per aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Terming options other than UN resolutions distrustful, asked pro-freedom leaders to desist from supporting or pleading other choices as it is impossible & won’t help to contain political uncertainty in the region, said Syed Ali Geelani in a statement to KNS.
Terming Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Azad Kashmir, Giglit & Baltistan a single unite and entity, Syed Ali Geelani said that we will pursue freedom movement till the issue is resolved as per aspirations of people.
Issue relates to 15 million people and while declaring Tashkent, Shimla Lahore declaration and four-point formula as short cuts, Syed Ali Geelani said that all these formulas proved unrealistic, impractical and nothing is expected even in future too. It is wastage of time and it will never prove fruitful.
Citing the examples and procedures adopted in Croatia, East Timor, Scot land yard and South Sudan, Syed Ali Geelani said that sensible people respect right to self-determination for suppressed nations & neither there is any space for bullying nor justification for use of military might.
Syed Ali Geelani in his statement while refining to use of brute force by India, said that one day it will definitely come to an end & they can’t justify their stance for long. India claims to be a great democracy and aspires membership to UN Security Council, however its stand about Jammu Kashmir is contrary to its tall claims & its aspiration for membership to Security Council is inappropriate.
Urging pro-freedom leadership for their persistence with movement, Syed Ali Geelani said that we need to be optimistic, show wisdom & valour. Time periods can’t be fixed for freedom movements, some nations achieve their goal within a short span of time while as for others they have struggled for quite long periods, said Syed Ali Geelani.
Referring to independence movement of India, Syed Ali Geelani said that it commenced in 1857 and however it took 90 years for India to achieve their goal. Those leading freedom movement in India never restored to short cuts and at last they achieved their destination, said Geelani.
Syed Ali Geelani while referring to freedom struggle of Jammu and Kashmir said that we are sure that circumstances will force India to honour the aspiration of suppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir or it will stand exposed despite its tall claims of being a democracy.
It is not proper to mention other out of box options or solution as it will support and strengthen oppressors, said Syed Ali Geelani. (KNS)
