Government forces on Wednesday fired pellets on protesters in Shopian district of south Kashmir injuring at least five persons.
Two among them have been referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment.
Sources told Rising Kashmir that protests erupted at Arhama area of the town after forces tried to clear the road.
Soon after the arrival of forces people started raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.
They also pelted stones on the forces party sources said, adding forces resorted to pellet firing injuring at least five protesters.
