Police on Wednesday tried to foil at least three freedom rallies in south Kashmir resulting in clashes and injuries to at least 22 persons.
A pro-freedom rally was scheduled Siligam area of Anantnag district however government forces blocked the roads leading to the venue.
This resulted in clashes between protesters and government forces. At least ten persons were injured in the incident.
They said that another such a rally was scheduled in Katrusoo area of Kulgam district but government forces raided the venue and damaged the stage set for speakers adding clashes erupted in the area.
Protesters from Khudwani and Qaimoh were intercepted on way to the highway. At least twelve protesters were injured in forces action.
