Police and other government forces on Wednesday resorted to pellet firing against the protesters in south Kashmir’s Pulwama town.
Sources said q protesters held strong pro-freedom demonstrations at Muran Chowk of the town raising anti-India slogans.
Police and CRPF men swung into action and fired tear smoke shells and pellets on protesters resulting into injuries to at least 17 persons.
They said that many had injuries in their eyes.
Clashes were going on when the reports last came in.
