Govt forces went Berserk in Gowkadal

Government forces including CRPF and Police late last evening went berserk in Gowkadal, Srinagar smashing window panes of scores of houses and manhandling residents of the area.

A local resident over phone, “at 8 pm in the evening police and CRPF barged into the residential houses without any provocation and smashed all the window panes and beat scores of residents.”

“It was only after, when a senior police officer intervened, forces stopped beating us. The officer has also promised that no such incident will take place in future,” he added.

It is pertinent to mention that government forces have been accused of barging into the residential houses at many areas of Kashmir to harass the population.

While the senior officers keep on assuring on taking action against the erring personnel but no action has been taken against any one as of now.
