Three suspected militants were killed in a gun battle in Tangdhar area Kupwara district on Sunday, defence sources said.
They said that the encounter began after they challenged a group of militants near the Line of Control (LoC).
The militants were trying to infiltrate, they said adding the area has been cordoned off to prevent them from escaping.
