Days after the killing of top militant commander Burhan Wani, whose death has triggered massive uprising in Kashmir, fresh militant posters have appeared in parts of restive south Kashmir appealing people to continue with the ongoing agitation till the freedom is achieved.

The posters were seen pasted at different places in Shopian, Pulwama and Anantnag districts.

“When we woke up in the morning, we saw a number of posters pasted at various place …on walls of mosques and school walls and on shutters of shops.”

The posters had appeared in Kakapora, Kareemabad and other localities of Pulwama also.

The posters with the stamp of Divisional Commander Lashkar-e-Toiba J&K and another poster with the stamp of Hizbul Mujahideen, have asked the people to live by Islamic principles and advised them to carry out Jihad.

The posters have sent the security forces in tizzy, who say that despite security restrictions and complete shutdown, how they have managed to print out banners showing slain HM commander Burhan Wani.

The LeT posters have also warned the government employees not to report for work and has told women to not venture out of their houses without any reason.

“All people should offer prayers, and our mothers and sisters shouldn’t venture out of their houses without any valid reason,” read the poster.

Superintendent of police (SP) Pulwama, Rayees Mohammad Bhat said that the authenticity of the posters was being looked into. “Our reports say these posters aren’t pasted by militants but some local miscreants do this,” he said.
