Srinagar: Kargil police started a rescue operation after an accident took place in Drass.
A Bolero vehicle bearing registration number PB05F-1557 met with an accident and fell into river Drass near village Jasgund Drass on Leh-Srinagar National Highway boarded by four persons. Kargil Police headed by Additional SP Kargil under the supervision of SSP Kargil with the assistance of civil administration and Army authorities started an immediate rescue operation.
During rescue operation the vehicle was retrieved along with a body who was identified that of Arjun Singh son of Jaspal Singh resident of Basant Colony Pathankote but three others Bittu Singh son of Gurmat Singh, Gulshan Singh son of Gurmat Singh and Ratan Singh son of Chuni Singh, residents of Pathankote are still missing. Rescue operation is still going on despite the fast flow of the river.
Kargil police has registered a case in this regard.
