Srinagar: Unidentified gunmen on Wednesday shot and kill an army porter in Wadarbala village of Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
According to correspondent, the porter identified as Liyaqat Chetwal, 20, was killed by gunmen in the wee hours of Wednesday by pumping six bullets into his body.
His uncle said that the slain was working with army’s 21 RR from past one year and last night he didn’t return home. “Today we heard some gunshots in the wee hours from nearby forest. The army later informed us that Liyaqat was killed by gunmen,” he said.
The porter is the nephew of Abdullah Chetwal, whose PSO was shot dead by militants two days ago at Tengpora, locals told GNS. The slain porter is survived by half-year old boy and 9 month pregnant wife behind.
