Handwara:  The family members of one of the three slain policemen killed in militant attacks in Srinagar Monday said that Head Constable Nazir Ahmed Mir was innocent who never participated in any anti-militancy operation. “I ask militants to give me a single reason for which they killed my father. He was innocent and pro-people cop,” Ishfaq Nazir Mir the 25 year old son of slain Head Constable Nazir Ahmed Mir said.

He said that no sane living being can justify the innocent killings on this planet.

Nazir Ahmed Mir a resident of Chek Sarmarg Handwara is survived by five children and wife. “Just two days ago my father was at home. We had never imagined that we will get his dead body,” Ishfaq said adding that his father was the sole bread earner and now there is nobody who could make a living for the family.

Thousands of people participated in the last rites of Nazir Ahmed Mir. “He (Nazir) was a decent human being who was loved by one and all in this village,” said a mourner.
