Srinagar : Two militant associates of Jash-e-Mohammad militant outfit were arrested in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, police said.
“Police in Pulwama alongwith Army (55RR) & CRPF (182Bn) arrested two associates of JeM,” a police spokesperson said in a statement to GNS. They have been identified as Adnan Shafi Bhat son of Mohammad Shafi Bhat of Ashmander and Yawar Rashid Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh of Karimabad, he said.
“Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including 01 Pistol along with 01 magazine and 12 rounds were recovered from their possession,” he said, adding, “During investigation 02 grenades were also recovered upon their disclosure.”
He said the arrested duo was working as associates of JeM and was tasked to carry out attacks on Non local labourers in the area.
Accordingly, a case (FIR No. 312/2022) under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been initiated. (GNS)
