SRINAGAR:- Dulat Janjagrat Mission (DJM) National General Secretary and In-charge Jammu and Kashmir (UT) Suhail Mir on Tuesday expressed serious concerns over the hardships faced by people in remote areas of Kashmir in view of ongoing snowfall.
In a statement, Suhail appealed administration especially Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to order clearance of snow from roads to enable people buy essentials for livelihood.
“In many remote areas of Kashmir, roads have been blocked for traffic due to heavy snowfall and people are confined indoors. I appeal Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to order clearance of roads and restore the supply of essentials so that people do not suffer,” Suhail said in a statement.
Suhail said that power supply has also been disrupted in many areas in view of snowfall.
“The power development department should take immediate steps to restore power supply in affected areas so that people do not suffer for long,” he said.
“Some other areas in Kashmir also face shortage of ration. The concerned department must take measures to ensure ration and other essentials are made available,” Suhail added.
