Srinagar, Dec 20: Paying tributes to slain divisional commander of Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) Tanveer Ahmed Bhat, Noman and Rubi Jan, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Mehmood Shah on Tuesday said such sacrifices promise “glad tidings for the freedom”.
“It is evident that not only the sons but the daughters also have rendered sacrifices against Indian tyranny,” LeT spokesperson Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi in a statement, quoted Mehmood Shah as saying. “India cannot maintain its illegal occupation against such passions.”
“It is not only for India but the whole world to see that a nation stands united with freedom fighters against Indian aggression,” LeT chief said and praised the “freedom fighters” for fighting a 22-hour long encounter with forces “despite insufficiency of supplies”.
“It is the unmatched skill of freedom fighters and an example of cowardice for Indian forces,” Shah said while strongly condemning the damage of property and injuries inflicted upon civilians by government forces.
“We will avenge the each and every damage (caused),” LeT chief, quoted by spokesperson said.
Mehmood Shah thanked people for their “immense support to freedom fighters” and said “such love, affection and support, is of pivotal importance and blessing for us”.
“The people and freedom fighters stand on the same (page). Allah will soon grant us victory with the blessings of our unity,” Lashkar chief said. (GNS)
