Srinagar, December 2: Mother of a missing youth hailing from Kareemabad village of Pulwama district, who is suspected to have joined militant ranks few days ago, appealed him to return home on Saturday.
According to news agency, mother of Adnan Ahmad, son of late Abdul Hamid, resident of Kareemabad today in a video message urged him to return to home, saying he is heart patient and is undergoing treatment for the same since last many years.
In her appeal to her son and militant outfits, Adnan’s mother said: “He has heart problem and he gets unconscious many-a-times. He only recovers after being injected with an injection. Medicines do not work and you can confirm this from SKIMS Soura. I appeal and request you (militant outfits) to return him for Allah’s sake. I have not been forced by anyone to record this statement.”
The mother of missing youth, who was an engineering student, said her husband who was working in police died of cancer two years ago and since then Adnan is under pressure due to pathetic financial conditions at home. She said she had to spend Rs. 10 lakh rupees on her husband’s treatment and still owes a large amount to lenders. “Police department did not help me. I am overburdened. Adnan was frustrated and he started working as laborer besides studying,” she lamented.
Appealing her son to come back, she said she does not want to see him dying of illness. “You are ill, come back home. I do not want see you dying a terrible death. Please return my son,” she said. The family of Adnan, who has two other siblings as well, has already seen three youths including Bilal joining militancy ranks. While two youths never returned, Bilal died few years ago in an encounter with forces. (GNS)
