SRINAGAR: Pro-freedom and pro-Islam slogans were raised as Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti left the Khanqah-e-Moula after taking stock of damages caused to the revered shrine in a fire incident in Downtown Srinagar on Wednesday.
An eye witness said that men and women who had assembled inside the Khanqah raised the pro-freedom and pro-Islam slogans as Mehbooba was leaving from the shrine.
Earlier, fire broke out inside the 14th century shrine of Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA), damaging the building.
However, fire was brought under control by firefighters.
