Bhartiya Janata Party Friday raised questions over the abilities of Jammu and Kashmir Police saying it has failed to protect BJP workers in Kashmir Valley.
Party General Secretary Ashok Koul said that the killing of party youth president Gowhar Bhat of Shopian is a proof of police failure. “Police lied when it said that deceased leader had resigned 3 days ago from the party. It was baseless while Ghowhar had not resigned,” Koul said.
“Our Jawahar Nagar based office was attacked with a grenade while police lied and said it was a fire cracker. Police have miserably failed to protect our workers,” Koul said and asked police to give protection to the BJP cadre.
Koul said he was arrived in Srinagar from Himachal Pradesh to pay homage to BJP youth president Gowhar Bhat.
Koul presided a condolence meeting at Jawahar Nagar based BJP office.
Pertinently, the throat slit body of Gowhar Bhat was found by police on Thursday evening. Police said they are investigating the case from all angles. (CNS)
