Srinagar Police has recovered bikes from Manali which were taken away by Malaysian tourists from a Srinagar based bike rental services.
Police Station Kothibagh received a complaint from Faisal Nazir Mir son of Nazir Ahmad Mir resident of HMT, Srinagar running Kashmir Travelogue bike rental services that three Malaysian tourists have taken three Royal Enfield bikes from him on rent for a trip to Leh. The complaint further stated that the tourists had left the country without returning the bikes.
On receipt of this information a case FIR number 69/2017 under section 406 RPC was registered and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, the Malaysian embassy was contacted and after strenuous efforts it was found that the bikes were dumped at Manali. A police party was dispatched to Manali and all the three bikes were recovered.
After proper verification, the bikes were later handed over to the owner. (GNS
