Member Legislative Assembly, Poonch, Haveli , Shah Mohammed Tantray today said that expansion of road infrastructure is being given top priority by the government as that better connectivity brings multiple socioeconomic benefits to the rural populace and catalyze the local economy.
Tantray was addressing locals after launching first phase of construction work of 2km road from Khanetar Tanda to Kalsian being constructed under state sector plan by PWD at an estimated cost of Rs 16.50 lakh.
The MLA said the development of all-weather rural roads, like Khanetar Dahlera Makhiala link road and Kunyian & Sainbaba Guntrian roads will benefit the rural economy by increased mobility, saving in cost of transportation of men and material and speedier flow of commodities. He said roads also help in growth of agriculture production by facilitating supply of modern inputs.
