Srinagar-Banihal train services resumes
On the second consecutive day on Tuesday, a complete shutdown was observed in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district to mourn the death of two militants, who were killed in an encounter that raged between forces and militants in Khudwani area of the district on Monday morning.
All the shops and other business establishments remained closed in the district while the vehicular movement was also thin on roads.
On Monday, two Hizb militants identified as Dawood Ahmad Allai of Hawoora and Sayar Ahmad Wani of Wanpora area of Qaimoh were killed in an encounter.
The shutdown was observed in various Tehsils of the district including Qaimoh, Yaripora, Devsar and Damhal Hanjipora.
Meanwhile, a police officials said that the situation across the district remained peaceful and under control throughout the day.
