A complete shutdown was observed today in Pulwama district of south Kashmir to mourn the death of three militants in an encounter and the killing of a civilian in forces’ action on protesters yesterday.
Reports said that all shops and other business establishments are closed in the district while traffic is off the roads.
A civilian Tawseef Ahmad Wani was shot dead by forces during clashes in Kakapora area of the district after the killing of three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants.
Police had said that the youth was a “chronic stone palter”. The Joint Resistance Leadership has alleged that he was “target-killed” by the forces.
