The district administration Srinagar Friday extended suspension of teaching activity in all the Degree Colleges and Higher Secondary Schools (HSS) tomorrow (Saturday).
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Lone said, “Teaching activity will remain suspended in the Degree colleges and Higher Secondary Schools of district Srinagar on June 3.”
The class work in the colleges and schools were suspended by the authorities in view of the protests that erupted following the killing of Hizb commander, Sabzar Ahmd Bhat on Saturday.
The students in the Valley have been continuously protesting against the alleged thrashing of student’s in Government Degree College Pulwama on Apr 15.
Fearing protests, the authorities from past few weeks have intermittently shutting the colleges, Higher Secondary’s as precautionary measures.
