Minister of State for Rural Development Sunil Kumar Sharma today informed the house that since 2014-15 to till date 16210 works have been executed in Kishtwar district under MGNREGA.
Replying to a question by Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo in the upper house, the Minister said that Rs 208.58 crore were allocated for execution of various rural works in Kishtwar district during the period.
Responding to supplementary questions by Surinder Kumar Chaudhary and Firdous Ahmad Tak, Minister said that strenuous efforts are being made by the government to create durable rural infrastructure under MGNREGA in the state. He said likewise a huge infrastructure was also built in Kishtwar district under the scheme.
He said that government was committed to bring transparency in the department and for that the officials have been made accountable. He said any negligence in the implementation of various schemes will not be tolerated and erring officials will be dealt strictly.
