Giving much relief, benefits and considering the prolonged unrest in JK, Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh has extended its scholarship scheme for 2017-18 and has decided to double the number of scholarship from 100 to 200 particularly for its 11th Batch for JK Students. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group while addressing a press conference organized today at Hotel City Centre, Srinagar said that the scholarship will be given to meritorious 100 girls and 100 boys in which 50% scholarship will be provided by Aryans and rest 50% will be financed in the shape of education loan.
Kataria while giving more information said that due to prolonged unrest in the Valley during the previous academic session most of the students couldn’t get admission nor came out from the valley for their studies. To compensate the loss bore by these students Aryans has doubled the number of scholarships to be given for the year 2017-18.
Punika Mahajan, Coordinator Admissions, Aryans Group added that Aryans has become the 1st choice of JK students near Chandigarh where majority of students from various parts of JK are studying in different courses.
With around 350 new students admitted in 2016-17 the number of Jammu & Kashmir students studying at Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh has touched 1350 of around 2600 students in total studying at Aryans Campus.
Punika further said that Aryans was started in the year 2007 and admitted students from various parts of JK also. The students of 1st batch bagged top positions and placed in good companies also. After that Aryans become the spot of Kashmiri students because of its peace & homely environment. Gradually with the increase in the number of courses the number of students got increased.
It is to be mentioned that 4 Kashmiri girls of Aryans had developed Aryans Android App to make the campus paper free and to solve to solve the problem of ban on SMS in their state J&K. These girls were honoured by CM, Punjab in a gathering of more than 50,000 students. At the time of floods which came in JK in the year 2014, 5 Kashmiri students of Aryans developed another app with the name “Aryans Save Kashmir App” to give all the info on one platform. The app was launched by Hon’ble technical Education Minister of Punjab, Sh. Madan Mohan Mittal. Aryans JK students helped in organizing relief camp in the flood affected areas where food packets, medicines, water etc were distributed among the needy.
Aryans 4 JK students with the help of nursing staff of Aryans have developed a “Life Saving Glove” that will help in providing timely assistance to the people prone to the risk of cardiac disease. The glove was launched and applauded by Dr H.K. Bali, Director, Cardiology, Fortis Hospital, Mohali.
5 engineering students of Aryans have developed a unique GPS and GSM based Safety Helmet. This innovative project of the Aryans Kashmiri students aims to provide timely first aid facility in case disaster happens at construction/ mining/ industrial sites. This was launched by Governor Haryana, Sh. Kaptan Singh Solanki.
