As the 40 day-long harshest winters commences in Kashmir, there seems no respite to the people from cold wave as the weatherman here have predicted dry weather till next week.
Director Meteorological department (MeT) said that there is no possibility of rains of snow in the next upcoming days. “We are expecting dry weather till next one week,” he said.
He said that there is possibility of further dip the temperature in Kashmir. “The temperature would further dip in Kashmir in the upcoming days,” he said.
Pertinently, on its arrival, Chillai Kalaan, the harshest 40-day period of winter in Kashmir, brought the coldest night of the season with temperature dipping below minus 6.5 degree Celsius.
“Mercury in Srinagar plunged further to settle at minus 6.5 degrees Celsius – a degree below the previous night’s minimum of minus 5.5 degrees Celsius,” an official of local MeT department had said.
