Search operation in North Kashmir’s Hajin Town has been called off after violent Protests erupted in Par Mohalla after gunshots were heard early to Thursday morning.
Reliable sources told PTK on a tip-off Army’s 13 Rashitriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a joint operation in a par Mohalla in North Kashmir’s Hajin Area of Bandipora District early in the morning after inputs about presence of two militants in a residential house.
According to Detailed Report militants opened fire at security forces after the area was cordoned off.
“As soon as militants opened fire people came out of their homes and started protesting near the encounter site which helped the militants to escape from there.” Witnesses told PTK that protestors pelted stones at security forces and raised pro-freedom and anti Indian slogans.
In Reply “Forces resorted to aerial firing and Tossed Number of Tear Smoke Shells to disperse the protestors which continued for at least half an hour near encounter site at hajin Bandipora.
Meanwhile, sources in the police and army confirmed that the operation has been called off and security forces were withdrawn.
On other side Locals of par Mohalla Alleged that many residiental houses were demaged, they said that forces have breaked and smahshing window panes of several residiental houses in the area.
It is pertinently mentioned that this is the second anti-militancy operation in Bandipora from past one month.
