Govt should announce winter vacations in Schools: Qayoom Wani
EJAK president, Qayoom Wani has expressed his concern over the immediate reinstating of terminated and dismissed government employees.
In a statement issued, the EJAC President and Chairman Teachers Forum Abdul Qayoom Wani assured the terminated and dismissed employees that EJAC shall continue to provide every support to the dismissed employees on legal, organizational and Administrative level under all circumstances.
A committee was framed to challenge this autocratic order in the Honorable Court of law on behalf of the terminated employees and shall fight till they get justice. Besides a Memorandum shall be submitted to the State Chief Secretary to review and reconsider the cases of these Employees so that they get justice. The EJAC President urged the Govt and the Authorities of the Education Department not to play politics with the future of the students. He said students are the asset of a nation so every conscious citizen of the state should play their whole role for the health, security and bright future of the students.
Wani urged the Govt and Officers of the Education Department to announce winter vacation in view of biting cold, lack of infrastructure and health of the students. Winter vacation is not a concession to students but it is a view of geographical condition of the area so that the health of students is not affected.
Qayoom Wani stressed upon teachers not to perform the duties as Chokidars and the officers of civil and police administration were asked not to force the teachers to perform chokidari duty otherwise they will have to face wrath.
Wani said that the security of schools is our common concern and not exclusively of teacher. So each one of us should ensure the security of schools and those found involved in burning of schools should be exposed before public.
Wani appealed the teacher’s fraternity and administrators of coaching centers to provide free education in their habitations and provide special concession in coaching centers to the poor children and the children of the effected people during turmoil. He urged the officers of education department to regularize the services of contingent paid employees and implement minimum wages Act in their favour so that their services may be utilized to safe guard the school buildings otherwise it is injustice with these poor employees who are getting only rupees 50 and 100 as monthly wages for the last so many years. Abdul Qayoom Wani said that arrests and suspension won’t deter me to represent the genuine cause of employees of the state.
