Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Abdul Ghani Kohli today said that education is the means for developing minds for the betterment of the individual and society.
The Minister said this while addressing a public grievances redress camp at Androlla in Kalakote constituency of district Rajouri.
Laying thrust on increasing enrollment of students in schools, the Minister said development of society is not possible without education.
The locals apprised the Minister regarding various problems being faced by them on account of drinking water supply, power supply, strengthening of interior link roads, old age and widow pensions, need for organizing recruitment camps for unemployed youths among others.
The Minister assured the people that all issues and projected demands will be immediately taken up with concerned officers and efforts will be made to resolve them at the earliest.
The Minister directed the officials and officers of various departments present in the public durbar to take note of the public grievances and work towards timely completion of sanctioned developmental projects.
Kohli urged the people to come forward and avail maximum benefits from various welfare schemes and programmes being run by the government.
Additional District Development Commissioner, AS Chib, Chief Education Officer Altaf Hussain, DSWO Dr. Abdul Khabir, DSHO Dr Sarfraz Naseem Choudhary, DAHO Dr. Ismail, Executive Engineer of PDD, PHE besides sectoral officers were also present on the occasion. (PTK)
