Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Department of Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks Priya Sethi today stressed on regular parent participation for overall development of the children.
The Minister said this during the Junior School Annual Function organized by Heritage School Jammu at Zorawar Singh Auditorium.
MLA Aijaz Ahmed Khan, MLA Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA Tsetan Namgyal Kalon, IGP, Commissioner Civil Military Liaison, Home Department along with many prominent personalities were present on the occasion.
Priya Sethi while addressing the gathering said that learning for every child begins at home and all parents need to actively participate in their child’s life to ensure they grow into self sufficient and responsible adults.
The Minister said that major aim of student life besides educational milestones, is development of a child into a confident and truthful personality and that feat cannot be fulfilled by a school alone. She urged the parents to spend quality time with their children and be active participants in shaping their future.
Priya Sethi further said that young students are true reflection of our great country and it is important that they are given necessary freedom to form their individual identities while being protected against various social vices.
The Minister emphasized the importance of extra co-curricular activities in character building and importance of teaching children the art of working and learning together. She stressed that schools must nurture imagination of young impressionable minds and encourage them to surge ahead and transform dreams into realities.
Priya Sethi congratulated the students and staff for the astounding effort in putting up such a captivating cultural show based on an adaptation of the “Alice – Through the looking glass”. She also appreciated the efforts of chairperson and management of the institution for providing students with a world class infrastructure and conducive learning environment. (PTK)
