The Peoples Democratic Party senior leader and chief coordinator South Kashmir Mufti Sajjad Hussain today called for taking serious initiatives to revive the peace process between India and Pakistan and involve all stake holders in dialogue. Mufti Sajjad was addressing party workers of Anantnag.
Sajjad said that peace is inevitable in Jammu and Kashmir and the emergence of PDP has changed the entire discourse. He said that everybody now realizes that conflict benefits none. He said that the state cannot progress in the absence of peace and everything will fall in peace once the situation is conducive. “It was always a dream of PDP founder Mufti Mohammed Syed that Jammu and Kashmir enters into an era of peace, stability and unprecedented development. Our Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti too has taken it upon herself to realize the dream that will bring equitable development to all the regions of the state,” said Sajjad.
Mufti Sajjad said that PDP has a proven track record of creating an enabling environment for the promotion of businesses, commerce, tourism and creating avenues of meaningful and respectable employment opportunities for our educated youth in the state.
He Said that PDP is for mitigating the problems of the people and urged the govt to make all preparation for essential services especially electricity, ration supply, fuel for the winter season so that people do not suffer.
He urged upon the party workers to reach out to people for a meaningful process which holds the promise for a liberal initiative, pragmatism and all possible help in the rebuilding of the agenda of development and dialogue. He made a fervent appeal to the younger generation in particular to join hands for a new beginning away from dismay and distrust.
He hoped that peace will soon return through various endeavours including the resolution of all issues and these dreams of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed will hopefully become possible.
District President Adv Sheikh Javed, Zonal President G A Thakur and District Youth President Imran Amin Shah also addressed the meeting. (PTK)
