Government forces including army Monday resorted to aerial firing and tear smoke shelling after locals objected to bringing down some banners by forces in Rohmoo village of Pulwama district.
Reportedly men in uniform arrived in Rohmoo village of south Kashmir and started bringing down some banners which irritated people who started protesting.
The banners with pictures of local militants were erected by locals in the area some time back.
Soon after people started protesting by raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, the forces fired tear smoke shells to disperse them
This according to local sources resulted in clashes during which forces resorted to aerial firing spreading panic in the area.
