Authorities on Friday did not allow congregational prayers in the historic Jamia masjid, Srinagar for 13th consecutive Friday.
Prayers were also not allowed the revered shrine of Hazrat Syed Yaqoob Sahib (RA) in Sonwar, located near the UN office.
Reports said that heavy deployment was made around Jamia Masjid Srinagar in Nowhatta and shrine of Hazrat Syed Yaqoob Sahib (RA) in Sonwar to prevent people from assembling. They added that gates of the shrine were even locked to prevent people from marching towards the UN office.
As per reports prayers were also not allowed in Jamia masjid Anantnag and Shopian in south Kashmir by enforcing restrictions and curbs.
