Police and other forces resorted to aerial firing and alleged ransacking after foiling a freedom rally at Palhalan, reports said on Friday.
Intense clashes erupted in North Kashmir’s Palhallan town as men in uniform did not allow people to take out a pro-freedom rally.
A freedom rally was proposed after congregational prayers in local Eidgah.
Soon after prayers people took out a march raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.
However, large numbers of police and CRPF men deployed in the area swung into action fired tear gas shells on protesters ensuing clashes.
During clashes, locals alleged that forces barged into their houses and started ransacking. They even fired in air to terrorize people.
