Hurriyat Conference (G) today strongly condemned the killing of Wasim Ahmad Lone of Rafiabad by forces in Nadihal. “As per media reports from locals there was no protest, no stone pelting, demonstration or public meeting. This young boy was working in the paddy fields, but armed forces without any provocation killed him. One fails to understand which democratic clause authorizes these trigger happy killers to act in such a barbaric way,” a spokesman of the Hurriyat said in a statement. “Thousands of youth are being put behind bars under the notorious Public Safety Act and most of them being shifted to outside Kashmir.
A good number of people mostly youth are subjected to the worst kind of humiliation and torture after arresting and crippling them for rest of their lives. Young kids being blinded for ever indicating that fascist forces are hell bent upon targeting the young folk in a well planned and institutionalized way, as every oppressor does.”Commenting on widespread arrest spree in Kashmir, the spokesman said, “Arrests, pressure tactics, coerce means, killings, ransacking may lend the administration an applause and clapping from their mentors in Delhi. But they deserve nothing but curse and a bad name from their besieged and oppressed people.”
Commenting on disallowing Friday prayers in Jamia Masjid and other district main masjids, the spokesman said, “This is the worst and autocratic attitude of interfering in the religious obligations of the people.”Referring to the India’s recent arms deal with France, the spokesman said, “Among both people and rulers ofIndia, war hysteria runs very high and some even suggest retaliatory aggression with deep strike inside Pakistan. Leading the arms race from the front, India suffers from the malady of expansionism to fulfil its long cherished ambition of Akhand Bharat”, but it will never succeed in its mischievous ambitions.”
