People are desperately forced to come on roads, these nocturnal raids are meant to terrorize people resulting in killings of many youths. Those who are responsible for allowing and carrying out such brutalities and murders must be held accountable, a common man says, who is responsible, government blames separatists and vice versa. How long this will go, no end in killings, no problem solved, no progress in parlays.
Government no doubt showed a positive move, whether it was by heart or mere game, separatists were knocked at the door, but they were adamant to boycott the delegation anyway. New Calendar that came on surface, in which separatists have given a programme, UNO Chalo, on the eve of Idd ul Zuha, the day of sacrifice. Till now government has not retaliated how to counter the new Calendar. It was expected that two days of Idd there would be relaxation and no strike call given, but it came as downpour shock to people, after reading the calendar. This would be for the first time, in 35 years when Idd prayers may not be allowed to offer, or curfew or restrictions will be kept on the day of Idd.
To be an eye opener, it is always been seen, that in the first instance government of India wakes up and sending such all party delegation only when Kashmir is on boil, otherwise, it had been always neglected. They have never bothered to interact at this level with the stakeholders when seemingly it is calm in Kashmir, though deceptive or sincere.
Congenital atmosphere is needed, in which people could feel safe and secure. But the regular incidents of killings and injuries vitiate, the atmosphere, as a result, the valley is on boil even on the 61st day of the unrest. Protests can be controlled by other means also, but the use of bullets and pellets on the people will push back the peace initiatives that are being taken to put an end to the current unrest.
This time need of the hour is for all mainstream parties and separatists to be on board, to be part of the solution and not part of the problem.
