The youths who are involved in agitation belong to four categories, one who demand Azadi for the sake of feeling the real freedom, second who have lost thier loved one at the hands of Armed forces, even after being innocent, thord who are unemployed, and fourth who take part in agitation for mere time pass and enjoyment.
The first three categories can be said to be of some cause, third fools who don’t know the meaning of Azadi and don’t know what for they are fighting.
What happened after the death of Burhan Wani, or which is most commonly known as Burhan Aftermath, was a bolt out of blue for government. As it is said, that in last twenty seven years of unrest, in Kashmir, this was the fourth APD visit in the state, to understand reasons and causes of the unrest. But all the four visits turned futile. Reports that were made were nominal, and no action was taken on them.
In 1987, Rajiv-Farooq accord concentrated on economic packages but failed to lift the state from economic shambles. As every reader, listener, writer and government knew it that this delegation has failed to evoke any response from state. People seem to be well aware about the legacy and history of right wing BJP. Irrespective of suggestions by well meaning politicians for open talks with all stakeholders BJP has made a mess out of it, by refusing to formally invite separatists leaders, in the meeting.
From July 1931 to July 2016, the freedom movement has been, seen and is passing through great ups and downs in different periods. But can it be said, that the killing of Burhan Wani and his associates on July 08th, has disclosed the futility of Indian policy on Kashmir. India the great nation, is using force mercilessly to restrain the agitation, the severe reaction and passions of the Kashmiri Muslims. Curfew is imposed constantly. Life has come to stand still. All other means of communication have been barred. In spite of that public enthusiasm is remarkable and the slogan of freedom is as popular as it was emerged after the killing of Burhan Wani.
The news of agitation, was witnessed by a reporter of Aljazeera TV who reached Bamdoor a little village of Burhan Wani. His reports and remarks that was broadcasted in the programme of July 15, can be said of great understanding and help in bringing the ground realities of Kashmir to world. Now the question is, Indian and western media, have adopted the policy of ignorance or black out on Kashmir. But as everyone sees that Kashmiries are responding cruelty and hatred with a fearless resistance. It can be said, right from 1947 the employer and employees together have employed myriad of suppression tactics to kill the deep seated sentiment of Kashmiris for freedom.
Feigning ignorance on the part of Delhi may suit her current interests but people on the ground have memories blazing with a past chequered by treachery and falsehood.
Has Kashmir remained beautiful, no, but geographically, yes. The statement of Mehbooba has said that separatists have missed the bus, can we say it was a non stop bus, that was running in a very fast speed, without proper communication and skills.
