Tukroo village in Shopian district today erupted into protests after people came out on roads against the “suspected” movement of CRPF vehicles in the area.
Reports reaching here to PTK said people got unnerved after a CRPF vehicle made several rounds in the area. After which people came on the road. It irked the cops and they (CRPF) resorted to indiscriminate shelling on the protesters injuring about a dozen civilians.
“Two of the injured have received shell injuries in head and have been referred to Srinagar in a critical condition,” eyewitnesses said.
The critically injured duo is Shiraz Ahmad and Aadil Ahmad Hajam, both locals of Tengwaen village.
