Muzaffar Wani, father of the slain militant commander Burhan Wani, said Saturday he had gone to Bangalore for treatment and stayed in the ashram run by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for one day to seek care for some ‘ailment’.
“He (Sri Sri) is a busy man. He came to meet me for a 3-4 minutes and asked me about how my two sons were killed,” Wani said after returning from Bangalore.
“I told him the whole story of how my elder son (Khalid Wani) was killed when he had gone to the forest, and how Burhan had left home to actually fight,” Wani said.
On Saturday evening, Sri Sri posted on twitter a photo standing with Wani in his ashram saying, “Muzaffar Wani, the father of Burhan Wani was in the ashram for the last two days. We discussed several issues.”
Sri Sri’s tweet was retweeted more than a thousand times by 9pm Saturday, creating a buzz.
However, Muzaffar Wani said, “He (Sri Sri) did not ask me anything else. He just talked to me for five minutes or so at the most.” “I came back with some medicines for myself. That is all,” said Wani, a diabetic.
