Rubbishing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assertion that Kashmir is a problem of development, Hurriyat leader and Chairman Islamic Political Party – JK Muhammad Yousuf Naqash said Kashmir is an issue concerning the future of 13 million people who are demanding their birth right of freedom from India.
Naqash in a statement issued to press said the people of Kashmir do not sacrifice their lives for the developmental issues but for the goal of freedom from Indian colonial rule.
“Narendra Modi by making such rubbish assertions is trying to mislead the world community but he must be aware that the whole world has acknowledged Kashmir as a dispute and is supporting the people of this State in their demand of freedom,” he said.
Naqash said if Indian PM’s claims are true then why bullets and pellets are being showered upon the people and why armed forces are tasked with the job of handling the situation. “Nowhere in the world are people killed for demanding the development. Reality is that Kashmiris are determined to take the freedom movement to its goal,” he said.
The Hurriyat leader castigated those at helm of affairs in New Delhi and their collaborators in J&K for turning the Valley into a military garrison where people are feeling suffocated and every single soul feeling unsafe.
“Our youth have been killed and our children blinded by the savage forces of this world’s largest democracy and Indian prime minister terms it a developmental problem. This way, Modi and his likes are befooling none but themselves,” Naqash said.
