Extends Shutdown call up to July 25, Separatists advise people to stock essentials on Thursday

Separatist leaders, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik Wednesday issued a fresh protest calendar, against what they called Indian atrocities extending the shutdown call up to July 25.

“From Thursday 2pm people are advised to stock whatever they can in few hours,” a joint statement said.

The statement said that Friday 22 July amid complete shutdown will be observed as “Kashmir Day”.

The new calendar is as follows:

Thursday 21 July: Deal in shutdown from 2 pm

Friday 22 July: Complete shutdown, Kashmir Day

Saturday 23 July: Complete shutdown, protests in mosques

Sunday 24 July: Complete shutdown, protests in mosques

Monday 25 July: Complete shutdown, Jalsa in Anantnag

The joint statement pledged that the ongoing “struggle” will go on.
