The valley is on fire after the top Hizb commander, Burhan Wani, 21, got killed in an encounter in south Kashmir. While the uthorities are trying their best to maintain the curfew there have been reports of protests going on in Baramulla, Palhalan and Bandipore areas of North Kashmir.
Thousands of youth took to streets in Baramulla town and tried to attack the Police Station. They were chased by police but the intense clashes broke out. The situation in the area is tense. They were raising pro Burhan slogan.
In Palhalan also youth took to streets and attacked a police post. The stone pelting led to clashes which were underway.
At Bandipore Police resorted to aerial firing when a group of youth tried to attack a police post near Nishat garden. Groups of youth are engaging police in clashes amid pro Azadi and pro Burhan slogan. No report of injury has been received so far.
