Forest officials to get special training for Wildlife protection

Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment, Chaudhary Lal Singh today said that protection of wildlife and to reduce man-animal conflicts, Government would impart special trainings to the Forest officials in this regard.

Replying to a question by Shah Muhammad Tantry in the House, the Minister said that Wildlife Department is understaffed and measures would be taken to impart special training to the Forest officials to tackle the man-animal conflicts besides, protection of wild animals.

The Minister said that during last five years, 48 persons were injured in man-animal conflict in Haveli constituency in Jammu region. He said in this regard, Rs 5.85 lakh has been provided as compensation in one death case and other injured persons during the period in Haveli constituency.
