Meanwhile, police forcibly closed petrol pumps in Srinagar.
While all the routes to Srinagar have been sealed with razor wires, huge deployment of forces has been made to thwart any mass movement towards Lal Chowk or UN Office at Sonwar.
A Journalist who was on way to office said that he saw cars at a petrol pump near Sangarmal Shopping Complex on M A Road.
“I rushed and queued up in not so long line of vehicles,” the journalist said, “meanwhile, a Police van came and its driver got his two cans filled with petrol.”
While the journalist moved his car inch by inch towards petrol filling pipe, and was about to fill tank of his car, some cop (of head constable rank) stopped his white Swift car and chased away the cars and people.
“He came shouting and threatened those waiting for petrol to vanish in two minutes or face wrath,” the journalist said, “it was hilarious; on one side, cops got their cans with petrol and on the other hand stopped people from getting the necessary fuel for their cars.”
Government has imposed 24×7 curfew in Kashmir and people are being stopped from moving out of their homes.
