Authorities on Friday did not allow congregational prayers in central mosques of Kashmir including historical Jamia masjid Srinagar for sixth time in a row.
Government forces had cordoned off all central mosques in Srinagar, Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Baramulla and other district headquarters from early morning, sources said.
This was for the sixth time in a row that Friday prayers were not allowed in main mosques of the valley.
The valley is under strict grip of continuous curfew and shutdown since July 9, a day after militant commander, Burhan Wani was killed.
67 civilians have been killed and more than 6000 injured at the hands of at hands of government forces so far.
