One person was killed as police and forces opened firing on protesters in Awantipora, in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.
Reports said that slain Mushtaq Ahmad, son of Bashir Ahmad, resident of Chursoo. Awantipora was hit by bullet as well as pellets succumbed to his injuries on way to SMHS.
With the killing of another youth the death toll in Kashmir has reached 52 in violent clashes ever since the killing of militant commander Burhan Wani.
Meanwhile, reports reaching here said that two youths were rushed to Pampore hospital where from they were referred to SMHS Srinagar.
“One youth who was hit by bullet in his head brought to Pampore hospital but doctors referred him to SHMS,” sources from Pampore hospital said.
The sources said that another youth was hit by pellets and he too was shifted to SMHS.
The identity of the duo, who was accompanied by three attendants, could not be ascertained immediately.
