New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday urged MPs across the political spectrum to hold free and fruitful discussions during the Budget session to help the country achieve greater economic heights. Addressing reporters ahead of the session, Modi said: “Our discussions should be frank and open minded. These can be an opportunity for the world. I hope all members and parties will with open minds help take the discussions to a high level, which will contribute to take forward our country’s progress.” He said that in today’s global situation, there were many opportunities for India. “This Budget session is not just for India’s economic progress — its vaccination campaign, our own indigenous vaccines, all these have helped inculcate faith regarding India in the world,” he said. Referring to the upcoming state elections, Modi said: ”It is true that due to elections Parliament sessions are disturbed. But elections will continue and we must continue with our work. “This Budget session is very important as it takes the country along for the whole year, and the more fruitful we make it , it will help to take our country reach higher economic levels.” UNI RN MR
