National Conference senior leader Akbar Lone while reacting to the inconvenience of commuters created by the strike call of transporters told Press Trust of Kashmir that it is very unfortunate that these things are happening at the time when people of valley are in all sorts of trouble due to tense situations prevailing.
He said that the shifting of Batamaloo General Bus Stand to Parimpora on the outskirts of Srinagar should have a complete strategy and plan how to deal with but they have decided it without taking the transporters into their confidence and the result is before everyone, which shows the distance between the people and the government.
“The bus stand at Parimpora is not worth a bus stand but why it is being shifted there seems to be an illogical move and its impacts will surface very soon.
But on the other side, the commuters include the old age citizens, children and ailing people are facing acute shortage of inconvenience which needs to checks as soon as possible in order to bring the life round”, he said.
He said that the roads present a deserted look as all means of public transport including buses, mini-buses, taxies, autos, tankers and trucks were off roads which is very bad sign as far as situations in valley are concerned.
He adds, “Now government should come forward to hear the grievances of transporters and bring them into confidence to get these strikes over and solve their problems”. (PTK)
