Drug store owners at Kashmir’s biggest 50 bedded Unani Hospital Shalteng here have allegedly broken the wall to provide direct access to the patients to their shops.
Hospital sources that with the help of some of the doctors in the hospital, all this happened under the very nose of higher authorities of Hospital, who prefer to remain silent.
One of the doctors of the hospital on condition of anonymity told that the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital knows it all, but he is not taking any action against the concerned staff.
They can re-construct this broken wall within an hour but he deliberately remains silent. How can someone break the Hospital wall without the support of higher authorities? “We have informed the Medical superintendent of the hospital several times to look in to this matter, but to no avail,” the doctor maintained.
“The wall of the hospital has been deliberately broken by these Private shopkeepers which now have become the shortest way for the customers to reach their shops and to get medicines from them, as the doctor rooms and Out Patients wards (OPD) are very close these shops” he added expressing concern.
“After breaking the wall of the hospital and illegally creating a direct access to their shop, they are looting the patients by selling medicines prescribed by the doctors at exorbitant rates,” one of the insiders said.
The insiders appealed the higher authorities to intervene into the matter. (KNS)
