Hurriyat (M) chief was scheduled to lead protest march against civilian killings
Ahead of the scheduled protest programme issued by Kashmir’s joint resistance leadership, Hurriyat (M) chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been placed under house arrest, barring him from addressing congregational Friday prayers at Jamia and leading protest march thereafter.
Mirwaiz’s media advisor Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam confirmed that Mirwaiz during the early morning hours was placed under house arrest at his Nageen residence. He was scheduled to lead a protest rally against the civilian killings. (KNS)
