Congress staged protest against Modi government against price hike of LPG cylinders. Large number of youth congress activists under the leadership of Sheikh Aamir Rasool, Pankaj Basotra, Paramjit Singh State General Secretaries and Thakur Hoshiar Singh Chib Lok Sabha President Youth Congress assembled outside press club and raised slogans against Modi government and also burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narinder Modi. The youth congress activists also blocked the Dogra Chowk for more than half an hour and latter were intercepted by the police men who were present there. While addressing the youth congress activists and media persons the youth congress leaders said that the youth congress being the frontal organization of the party it’s office bearers and its volunteers are holding demonstrations and outreach programs to sensitize people on the anti-people and fatal plans of the BJP government at the centre as per the direction of PYC President Pranav Shagotra.
They also said that the fact that LPG price has been increased by the MOdi Government which is another gift of Modi ACHE Din. The hikes without considering the needs of the common man are a return gift to the people who funded the campaign of Narendra Modi. The story of good days is reaching to its diagonally opposite end with the rise in LPG prices now all slated to miserably affect everyday lives. This will have a more severe impact on poor people because poor households spend more than half of their income on food. It is a chain reaction once started will affect all in the days to come. The unhindered hike in the prices of the LPG is also a clear indication that the government is slowly striving to give up its social responsibilities and let market forces decide the fate and destiny of common man. Narendra Modi led government’s undue zeal to cut on fiscal deficit at the cost of everyday lives of common man and farmers of the country clearly put down the priority of the BJP and the present government. The government is interested in the benefits of the corporate and not the welfare of the people. The government intends to undo the welfare state tag of the country in the days to come. The government is interested in businesses and profits and not in the lives or happiness of the citizens. In the meanwhile the youth congress leaders as per the direction of PYC President Pranav Shagotra extended their support to the contractual lecturers who are sitting on hunger strike for the last 19th days and also laid stress upon the state government to redress their issue as early as possible otherwise youth congress activists will come on roads. Prominent there who were present include Shabir Kohli, Deviansh Jamwal, Sumit Sharma LYC Secys, Kushwant Singh, Dayal Singh, Vijay Tagotra AYC Presidents, Vikrant Khajuria ,Parteek Singh,Mohd. Rafi Sunny Chowdry, Shamsher Lal, Ajay Gupta, Sahil Singh Langeh and many others. (PTK)
