Investigation on: Police.
The family members and relatives of mother-daughter duo of Nambal village of Mattan area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday staged protest against the district administration for ‘failing to investigate the murder case of duo properly’.
The family and the relatives assembled at Srinagar’s Press Enclave and chanted slogans like ‘we want justice’. They were demanding that the ‘murder case’ of duo must be taken seriously and investigated properly.
The protesting family who were holding banners alleged that the authorities have failed to investigate the alleged murder case properly. “The district administration is not taking the murder case of their beloved one’s properly. The duo have been killed and the case must be investigated properly,” the protesting family demanded.
“The main accused, Bashir Ahmad Shah, husband of Afrooza, is using his influence to sabotage the investigation,” the protesting family alleged.
The family said that they called Afrooza’s husband several times and asked him about the well-being of the mother-daughter duo. “We made several attempts to contact with Afrooza and her daughter but unfortunately, her husband refused to give phone to her, saying that she is busy with her work while their daughter is sleeping,” the protesting family said.
They alleged that their daughter bore several cruelties by her in-laws who were allegedly demanding dowry from her.
“We demand that the district administration must investigate the case properly so that the culprit involved into the killing of duo would be dealt with strictly,” they demanded.
Notably, the mother-daughter duo went missing a few days back and were later found dead under mysterious circumstances.
Meanwhile, a senior police official told KNS that the case is being investigated properly. “A case has already been registered in this regard while the investigation is on,” he said. (KNS)
